The only problem was that I was struggling to get the bezel off the SKX itself so this bleached insert was laying around. This morning, feeling restless and wanting to somehow do something watch related, I decided to dunk the entire SKX in bleach. When the light hits the bezel of a Rolex, you will see that "orange peel" surface. Chemically faded bezels are the result of a physical loss of the finish as opposed to a natural breakdown of pigment. The bleached bezel mod has always been that one thing I could attempt myself, but most posts about it say when it happens, it happens fast and may ghost out very quickly once the process starts. The biggest red flag for bleached bezels that I have seen is the evenness of the fading, on an otherwise undamaged bezel. It seems that most legitimate ghost bezels (at least, I think they're legit) fade more towards the edges, with the inner edge being more protected from the protruding crystal.
