Hello Everyone, I noticed that there was a celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the wonderful exploits of the 55th West Lancashire Division at the memorial in Givenchy in April 2008, but are there any plans for the centenary in April 2018? I visited the memorial last week as my Grandfather foug.The party is probably going to France for the unveiling of the 55th West Lancashire Division memorial at Givenchy. The memorial was unveiled on 15 May 1921, with Marshall Joffre, the Mayor of Liverpool, Duchess of Sutherland and General Jeudwine being present.In April, defences around the villages of Givenchy-lès-Bassée and Festubert, constructed earlier by the 42nd (East Lancashire) Division, were manned by the 55th (West Lancashire) Division.
